"He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds."

                                                          Psalm 147:3

Again  God brings the comfort, beauty, & pure joy of animals and earth to awaken my senses, love me, inspire my soul to create.  This beautiful new friend "Jazelle" Malamute, Husky, German Shepherd  mix captured my heart and sight as I spent time taking care of her while her parents were away.  Feeling her fur, looking into her beautiful brown eyes, watching her extreme excitement and energy on a walk smelling the world around her...made me want to savor the moments and take in what my senses felt!

Visiting wonderful cousins in Georgia in October...I saw beautiful scenery and spent time getting to know their beautiful four horses and five dogs!!  Have already painted on my new hand painted canvas bags from the photos I took of their horses!

Pilgrimage to Iona, Scotland....Springtime 2011

The earth is full of the goodness of the Lord.  Psalm 33:5
Indeed, the earth shows the goodness of the Lord.  It has come to me that I love the earth and animals so because we are all connected ...we come from the same God who made us all.  We all come from the earth...we are all living creatures savoring the life we have been given...comforting each other in it.  I truly savored this journey to another land I had never seen before.  The vistas of scenery, the wind, sea, rock, precious lambs, sheep, cows, horses, birds, sea life....quiet bliss for my soul.  I will never forget this gift to me.  I look forward to creating paintings from the life I experienced here.
I am very grateful for my recent opportunity to pilgrimage to Scotland with seven other wonderful women.  New friends who inspired and loved me while walking in this journey with me.

Creations of love & beauty....a new found love of horses...Since moving to Kentucky I have encountered horses up close ...first while walking in downtown Louisville with my sister..she encouraged me to touch a large horse that was stopped by the side of the street. It was a carriage pulling horse. She told me how she loves to touch their nostrils and feel the warm breath coming for from them. I had never done this before... I had always been afraid of the largeness of them...but I did it... I was unafraid to touch and feel and it was wonderful..so soft and warm...LIFE I now want to touch and talk to a horse every chance I get to.... The second time I was able to get close to horses was at the April 2010 Lexington Rolex horse show. A friend invited me to meet her there. My niece, Carolyn, and I went and experienced something awesome in the viewing and touching of such magnificent animals. To hear them running close by..the pounding of their hooves on the ground..the sound of their breath as they ran..I had never experienced this before...I am in love...I want to paint... We also were able to touch and talk to the beauties that were just standing around with riders looking stately and elegant... Now, when I see a horse in a field on a country road ...I have this desire to stop and talk and touch...and give them a kiss if they will let me!!!
